ABOUT KATE STERN
Kate’s work has been featured in Wedding Bells Magazine ( Jan 2005) and twice on E Online. She was named number #1 on Yahoo’s Best Personalized Gifts List, nominated for Victoria Magazine’s "Entrepreneurial Woman of The Year", and has been commissioned to make all the Emmy Award gifts for the Fox Television series, Arrested Development as well as the Academy Award gifts for Gosford Park nominees and Michael Douglas’s 2004 Golden Globe Lifetime Achievement Award gift. Artist Kate Stern's custom made decanters, bottles, tiles, furniture and books are all created from your personal photographs. Each piece is a tribute to you, your family or friends. Whether it be a decanter made from your parent's wedding photo, a tiled coaster set of your children, or a book telling the story of your mother's life, each individual piece of art is uniquely personal. Kate's love for both antique bottles and old photographs inspired her to combine the two. Originally made as a series of bottles incorporating her own family photographs, Kate later turned to making commissioned pieces for clients wanting a unique and artistic way to preserve and display their own important photographs. From a single decanter, tile or bottle, or an entire family tree on glass, to a bathroom with family photos tiles in, Kate has been commissioned to make hundreds of one-of-a-kind pieces for clients around the world. With the addition of the photograph tiles, Kate fufilled a vision incorporating photographs into home design. Though more often used for individual display, Kate has also created furniture and designed counter tops and walls all incorporating these unique photo tiles. |
